No matter our personal beliefs or political affiliation, we can all agree that the coronavirus pandemic was devastating to our lives. Together, we all dealt with massive change and grief. Our economy and livelihoods are still reeling from the coronavirus, from closed businesses and schools to cancelled family gatherings and losing loved ones.
In early 2020, before we knew what the next 2 years would hold, The World Health Organization, the CDC, Anthony Fauci, and others alarmed U.S. citizens by predicting a novel coronavirus would likely have a 3% mortality rate. Americans’ civil rights were then trampled and mandates shut down small businesses. Looking back, it is clear that our federal government waged economic warfare on its citizens while knowingly promoting misleading data and solutions. Unless Congress takes action to prohibit these violations, our government will continue to trample on our God-given freedoms.
As more information becomes available, Americans are realizing that COVID-19 came from a U.S. funded laboratory in China, contrary to the prevailing narrative. Specifically, data points to a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology where Anthony Fauci authorized U.S. taxpayer money to study gain-of-function research. For those who are unfamiliar with the term, gain-of-function research occurs when scientists alter the gene pattern of a virus to make it more efficient or lethal in its nature. After the United States outlawed this practice, Anthony Fauci exported our research to China and continued to conduct these dangerous experiments. New research indicates this Fauci-funded lab as the source, and besides the obvious violations, it is important to note that Twitter, Facebook, and other big–tech platforms censored anyone questioning the official story of COVID-19’s origins.
The United States government, federal and state, trampled American freedoms while providing counterintuitive solutions. They violated our ability to conduct business, communicate freely, question authority, and other essential rights that our founders fought for. The government put mandates into place for ineffective facemasks and unconstitutional lockdowns. Those in the medical field that questioned the narrative lost their licenses, and social media giants de-platformed any dissenting opinions. During the height of the panic, our government shut down small businesses, but they allowed corporate empires to operate as usual. Furthermore, our military and bureaucracy purged anyone who did not comply with the vaccine mandates. Unless significant measures are put into place, D.C. will likely pursue further restrictions in the future.
In order to prevent the future unraveling of our individual liberties and constitutional rights in the name of public health, the United States must make several critical changes. First, we must terminate all foreign gain-of-function research facilities and prosecute actors that violated United States law. In addition, states must work to curtail governors’ emergency powers, and Silicon Valley must be investigated for their efforts to censor law-abiding citizens. We also must have more transparency from organizations such as the World Health Organization and the CDC. Time after time we found out that the WHO was withholding information in the wake of China’s first outbreak. We should also decentralize our American medical organizations – instead of allocating power to one organization or public figure, we should have dissenting views and medical opinions come to an agreement together as most leading private organizations do. More strategies from the private sector should be implemented, including more public-private partnerships in our medical fields. President Trump led the way with Operation Warp Speed (OWS) that combined the public–private sectors to accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID-19 materials, therapeutics, and diagnostics. We should invest more in the agencies like Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) that are responsible for medical countermeasures like OWS, helping to prepare us to quickly stop pandemics in the future.
Americans must demand an end to government mandates before it’s too late. These are just a few of the steps we must take to prevent future tyrannical overreach.
